"Natsume" is a container for matcha and it is one of the representative tea utensils in the tea ceremony. It can be also used as an interior decoration or accessory case. It came to be called "Natsume" because of its similarity in shape to the fruit of the plant jujube.
Since gourd has many seeds, it has meanings of "prosperity of descendants" and "fecundity."
It is also eaten as a lucky charm for sound health. "six gourds = disease-free": these words are pronounced the same in Japanese (Mu-byo)

- Cannot be used in dishwasher and microwave.
- The paint may peel off if leave it in hot water and wash it.
- Avoid washing with brushes or cleansers.
